Office History
Balis architects is an architectural firm based in Athens, Greece, founded in 1975 by Eleni Donta and Panagiotis Balis, both alumni of National Technical University of Athens, who after having gained significant architectural proficiency in several distinguished offices they established their own architectural practice.
In 2008, Christina and Maria-Eleni Bali, daughters of the founders, joined the practice adding fresh ideas and contributing to further innovative thinking. They both graduated from the National Technical University of Athens and they moved in London for six years where they completed their masters Degree in Architecture at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL (GAD, MArch) and in Architectural Association (AADRL, MArch) respectively. After their graduation they joined several architectural firms in London where they earned the experience to work in numerous projects from small to large scale worldwide. Some of the firms they worked for are Design International, BrydenWood and Zaha-Hadid architects.

Today our portfolio includes a variety of projects and backgrounds; interior design, commercial and business spaces, renovations, new built bespoke residential developments, mainly based on the northern suburbs of Athens. Over the years and after completing numerous projects the office gained a lot of experience in designing, consulting and constructing.
The office’s strength builds on a 45-year reputable background in architecture, engineering, construction, and the integration of contemporary architectural applications of our time. This contextual approach manifests in unique architectural projects, enriched with honesty, functionality and successfully represents the identity of the client.
